Tecla is a century-old jeweler that was established in 1912, at a time when pearls were being imported into Europe by a pearl fanatic, Jo Goldman. Soon after, fashionable Parisians aspired to wear jewelry that was beautifully adorned with glittering pearls. It was a fortunate turn of events for Jo Goldman as the brand successfully managed to hit its target.
It is worth mentioning that the Tecla flagship store established at 2 rue de la Paix (close to Place Vendôme), an awesome building decorated by Jansen, reminiscent of the stunning beauty and sophistication of the 18th century, highly contributed to the brand’s enhanced fame. Furthermore, the car company Bugatti named one of its car models the “Bugatti Tecla” after the brand.
The brand specialized in cultured pearls and acquired fame in the 1920s to 30s and went on to successfully establish branches in London (Old Bond Street), New York City (5th Avenue), Berlin (Unter den Linden), Biarritz, Nice, and Paris. The advent of the second world war resulted in the closure of all Tecla boutiques and, in 1945, the brand re-emerged only in Paris.
Following the death of Tecla’s founder, his nieces took control of the house which was, eventually, in 1995, turned over to a young couple by the name of Bruno Ledoux and Sonia de Maigret. Currently, Tecla is endeavoring to re-establish itself in the luxury world.
The brand’s collections of luxury jewelry are truly mesmerizing; each new jewelry piece being more brilliant than the former. It does not matter if the jewelry design is classic or contemporary, the women wearing it look absolutely magnificent.
The distinctiveness of the rings, decorated with a pearl or two, enhance the looks of the lady they adorn. The pearls can be peacock green resembling the South Seas, pink akin to those found in Australia, black or simply of a pearly hue. In addition, there are pearl necklaces from Tahiti or Indonesia, earrings adorned with a combination of pearls and precious gems like citrine, sapphire, tourmaline, etc, and other jewelry pieces with vast shades of color bringing out the radiance of each and every woman. Moreover, all the exquisite jewelry pieces are handicrafts and remarkable works of art.
The Miller House takes pride in offering you its pre-owned Tecla jewelry pieces; available at its store or online, at the best prices.
