Alberto Giorgi, the founder of the brand, was born at San Lorenzo in Campo, in the Italian province of Pesaro, in 1947. Later on, he became a student at the “Apolloni” Art School, together with Edgardo Mannucci. Alberto Giorgi was a highly curious student who had a great interest in Byzantine crosses, bracelets and rings symbolic of barbarian tribes as well as gold necklaces adorned with enamel and stones.
He spent time working with different types of stones, metals, textures and surfaces. He researched techniques on junctions and combinations. This remarkable artisan was inspired to create jewelry, sculptures, and handicrafts. Each of his creations depicts a unique style; manifested in both demure and bold designs.
Alberto Giorgi exhibited his astounding creations in 1966, at the Spoleto-Festival of the Two Worlds. After this, he moved on to further exhibitions at the Spoleto Gallery, the Gallery Rome, New York’s Cooper Hewit Museum, to mention a few. During this time, Giorgi succeeded in winning numerous awards. In 1973, he created beautifully alluring jewelry, out of fine white and black threads, which was displayed at the 15th Milan Triennale.
Giorgi’s jewelry creations were fascinating with a unique way of combining different elements. The jeweler was more interested in the evocative aspect of jewelry creation than the technical or manufacturing strategies involved; aimed at opening up the viewer’s imagination, allowing for interaction with the designed object.
Alberto Giorgi became a renowned jeweler at the young age of 25 years and the brand’s jewelry has a unique quality of prominent designs. Actually, these graphic signs are an expression of a solely artistic language. The materials being used by the house mostly consist of yellow or white gold, black or rose silver, silver plated, rhodium, yellow and black stones as well as precious and semi-precious stones. The secret of this outstanding craftsman lies in his remarkable skill in blending cuttlebone.
