Thomas Fanourakis, the founder, attended the Athens School of Fine Arts where he took painting lessons. He went on to work at the Archaeological Museum and furthered his skill in artistic research. In 1960, the house Fanourakis was established by Thomas Fanourakis in Heraklion, Crete.
It was actually a family business run by the outstanding expertise of family members who were merchants and goldsmiths. The Fanourakis company blossomed successfully, favoring its own independent design style; formulating exclusive strategies for the creation of elegant and complex jewelry designs.
The success of all the previous generations of the Fanourakis family has been attributed to their outstanding talent in creativity. The family’s respect and expertise for the brand’s creations have been smoothly handed down from one generation to the other. Leonidas Fanourakis was at the forefront of running the business to top levels of success until he passed away in 2006. His highly enterprising wife, Lina, has been at the head of management since then and has been actively engaged in contributing to the company’s achievements. She is a remarkable designer who not only manages the entire jewelry collection’s designing but the jewelry production procedures as well.
Lina and her small team of skilled craftsmen, goldsmiths and gem setters, make use of top quality materials, mostly gold, for the creation of exclusive and elegant jewelry pieces. Jewelry creations depicting a true reflection of the happy moments of life and the wondrous beauty of nature; all brought forth with intense passion and ingenuity. Lina Fanourakis is a highly-skilled designer who has a way of crafting unique gold creations, such as lace, cobwebs, tiny mosquitoes, flies, and beautiful butterflies. She also has a penchant for rose-cut diamonds, creating fine mosaics at the Fanourakis house.
Lina Fanourakis excels in her expertise for high-end goldsmithery; creating jewelry pieces that are modern, classy, and even humorous. Used Fanourakis jewelry consists of magnificent rings decorated with precious gems, earrings with depictions of flora and fauna, pearl or diamond necklaces, alluring cross pendants, and enticing brooches. All of which are amongst the brand’s outstanding works of art.
The Fanourakis house, in just a span of 50 years, has an art gallery and numerous jewelry shops in Athens. The house has succeeded in acquiring recognition in not only Greece but the world at large. The Miller store offers you pre-owned Fanourakis jewelry at competitive prices.
