For the first time in its history, the fashion house Fendi has developed a 3-piece set of high jewelry. Using over 1,000 diamonds, Delfina Delettrez Fendi, artistic director of Fendi jewelry , has created a three-piece set with cascading white stones interspersed with yellow baguettes arranged in the shape of an F that require attention to be identified.

I wanted to use the logo in a subtle way, almost like a hidden code, ” Delettrez Fendi said in an interview. “ For me, the F is almost the family symbol.

Luxury Fendi jewelry filled with symbolism

Karl Lagerfeld , who designed Fendi's fur coats and ready-to-wear for more than 50 years before his death in 2019, created the reverse FF monogram in 1965. It appeared primarily on leather goods, but also on Fendi clothing and luggage.

Yellow , the color of Fendi packaging, was another key element of the jewelry. Delettrez Fendi spent nearly a year searching for a set of exceptional diamonds with a subtle yellow/orange hue to suggest the color of a Roman sunset.

I really wanted to incorporate the concept of purity and lightness. I wanted the pieces to be meaningful and evocative, ” the designer explained. “ I think there’s nothing more evocative than diamonds . And there’s nothing more meaningful than yellow at Fendi.

This Fendi necklace features 4 central yellow stones, a reference to the fact that Delettrez Fendi, daughter of Silvia Venturini Fendi, artistic director of the accessories and men's collections of the Roman house, is part of the fourth generation of the founding family .

The 3 jewels of the Flavus set by Fendi

Dubbed “ Flavus ,” which means yellow in Latin, the Fendi jewelry set debuted at the opening of Fendi’s Fall 2022 Haute Couture show by Kim Jones, who has been creative director of Fendi’s couture and womenswear collections since 2020.

The succession of stones on the earrings and necklace is meant to evoke a Roman fountain while also nodding to the alluvial sourcing of the stones. “ Movement is important, comfort is fundamental ,” Delettrez Fendi told The Guardian. The collection’s cocktail ring design is static, but it has the appearance of stacking multiple rings.

The creation of these high jewelry pieces took more than a year. The big challenge was to find yellow diamonds with the right color intensity and the right shape for an emerald cut.

She noted that the diamonds are particularly young. They are only about 900 million years old, compared to the usual 3 to 4 billion years. The three Fendi jewels are sold separately or as a set. Their price varies between 350,000 euros and 1.2 million.
