2022 jewelry trends revealed by JCK
According to Bachmann, " stylized hearts and other symbolic motifs in the form of medallions or charms were major trends ." Indeed, jewelry is increasingly worn as a lucky amulet or talisman.
“ Our customers are definitely interested in the psychological benefits that jewelry can provide. Great jewelry puts you in a good mood, ” said Todd Oliver. He was at the show to shop for luxury jewelry for high-net-worth clients. He snagged custom designs from Sanalitro Gioielli, Yael Designs, Gasia Jewels of Milan, Lauren K, The Mazza Company, Just Jules, Tara Pearls and Sloane Street.
Other notable trends at the 2022 show, Bachmann continued, are “ brightly colored gemstone jewelry, especially green gemstones .” Think emerald , tourmaline, tsavorite garnet, peridots, and green sapphire jewelry . While Bachmann noted that “ pearl jewelry was very prominent ,” so too was yellow gold jewelry in finenesses of 14k, 18k, 22k, and 24k. Significantly, men’s jewelry also continues to gain momentum.
Jewelry innovations in 2022
Lab-grown diamonds are one of the big trends driving luxury jewelry. Conservative by definition, the industry is changing. For example, Benny Landa, inventor and founder of LUSIX, a major producer of lab-grown diamonds (LGDs), announced during JCK that LVMH Luxury Ventures, Ragnar Crossover Fund, More Investments and others have just injected $90 million into Rehovat, an Israel-based company. LVMH owns Tiffany & Co., Bulgari and other major luxury jewelry brands. LUSIX relies on renewable energy to produce its artificial diamonds .
